The Collaboration

Green Background

Box Blight damage has been devastating historic boxwood gardens across Europe for decades and Little Plants is proud to have our cultivars included in the search for a solution. Buxus microphylla 'Little Missy' has been tested and proven in many sites across France such as public gardens, private chateaus, and historic properties.
For instance, the original boxwood plants in the parterre of The President's Garden on the grounds of the Luxembourg Palace in Paris, France were placed there by Marie de'Medici in the 1600s and are a national treasure, but they are feeling the threat of Box Blight. In early 2023, a small section of the design was removed and replaced with test plants in order to observe and evaluate if the original plants can be replaced with blight resistant cultivars and preserve the historic garden space for boxwood as Marie envisioned. Buxus microphylla 'Little Missy' was included in a section of the replaced plants.
